Creating Abundance Intro

I have a passion for helping others learn the spiritual laws and principles of the Universe for creating abundance and in particular financial abundance. I was fortunate in my life to come across these laws and principles when I was turning 30.

Many years later, oh, about 22 years later, I had the opportunity to lead a small group of women in learning these concepts for manifesting abundance in their lives. From that experience I was motivated to study the specific topic of psychology and abundance.

Following my graduation with a Master of Arts Degree, I created my business,  Rites of Abundance, and developed an Abundance Course that I teach and that is available on my website. As I became aware of technology, I taught this course using teleconferencing. Through another technology, the internet and blogging, I am able to teach you how to manifest your desires.

So, this blog is for you!

You can start reading at any point because all of the information is important, but in order to start at the beginning you have to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on older posts. As my entries grow you might even have to click multiply times to find the first posts. Stick with it…if creating abundance is your desire, it will be worth your time and energy!

My Dearest Creating Abundance Readers,

I just reread my New Year’s wishes blog. I couldn’t believe how fast 2010 went by and now it is March 11th of 2011. I have to say that the speed in which our days are moving now is equally swift. There is an Aborigine saying…how long is eternity? So if we have forever it really is irrelevant how quickly the days pass. However, I think the challenge is adjusting to the pace.

One of the things that is helpful for me is an Abraham-Hicks quote and I paraphrase. You will never get it all done. Knowing that really takes the pressure off. For me it frees me to focus on being in the moment and doing the best I can.

On New Year’s Day or maybe even the first week of 2011, I desired to choose a new direction for this Blog. Of course, it had to be about creating abundance. Instead of drawing on the knowledge I’ve acquired through the years of studying metaphysics, and the coursework I studied for my Masters degree, I desired a new perspective. I had an abundance of choices for there is an abundance of material to choose from. Have you heard of the book title, the Prosperity Bible? It is a collection of the major, classic works on the topic of abundance. I considered writing based on those essays and books. The Prosperity Bible is like a gold mine of teachings and contains enough material to write on the theme for a life time. Okay, but at least a year…wink, wink.

However, I came across a new source. Although the book was new to me, the author was not. I was introduced to Robert Scheinfeld through his audio series called the 11th Element. At first I was intrigued with his ideas, but then one part didn’t ring true for me. You know how we hold onto books and audios thinking someday maybe we’ll listen again, and we know we probably won’t. That was the case for me…I still own the 11th Element.

Robert’s latest book is called Busting Loose from the Money Game. In my next blog I’ll write the story of how a friend of mine kept bugging me to read it. Until then, remember…

Creating Abundance with Goals

So far in this series of posts I’ve covered principles, purpose, mission statement and desires. In creating abundance each one is building on the previous one. I know that the first three require some hard work, but listing your desires should have been pure fun.

Do you know the difference between a desire and a goal? You’re absolutely right…a goal is a desire that has a date attached to it. Otherwise, the desire remains a desire or a dream. With a time frame attached to the desire you have a clear objective to move toward.

The next step in this process is reviewing your goals – the ones that met the criteria of something you truly desire, is enough, is within your human possibility, and does not contradict any other item on your list. You also put a dollar value on each desire.

With those details you can turn your desires into goals. Two qualities necessary for your goals are detail and clarity. Let me give you an example.

Your desire is to travel. You pack your bags and arrive at the airport. You walk up to the ticket counter to buy a ticket. The first question the attendant asks is, Where do you want to go? Hmmm…you don’t know.

You have to know where you want to go if you’re going to buy a ticket. Let’s say money is no object. Still you have to know where you’re going. What if where you want to go doesn’t have an airport but only a train station? What if you packed North Pole clothes and you’re going to the tropics?

I’m sure you get the idea. So desiring to travel must be clarified with details…where you’re going, how you’re getting there, what time of year, what activities you’ll do once you’re there, etc.

The more clarity you have and the more details you envision the easier the next step will be. That step is creating your plan of action. I’ll cover that in the next post. Until then, remember…

Creating Abundance and Identifying Your Desires

In the last three posts, I have written about principles, purpose and mission statement. Now we’re ready to move forward with desires. In creating abundance knowing your desires is imperative. Otherwise, how will you manifest them?

This activity is going to be lots of fun. This is when you turn your dreams into concrete ideas. For some, this will be an easy activity, but for others those dreams have been so stifled that you have to go on an archeological dig to find them. But they do exist.

If you’re in the first group, who has an easy time identifying your desires, then all you have to  do is grab a paper and pen or your computer and go for it. List all of your desires big and small. Let freedom reign. What do I mean by that? Do away with judgment. There will be plenty of time to evaluate your list, but for now have a blast and list everything you’ve ever desired.

For those who fall into the second group, who struggle for whatever reason with identifying your desires, be gentle with yourself and give yourself time. You might want to take a few days or even a week to do this activity. Perhaps you need to begin by going back to your childhood or teen years to remember the things you dreamed about.

Oh, remember that this list of desires isn’t just about material possessions although those are to be included, but also include desires like getting a degree, the hobby you’ve put off, learning a language, acquiring a new skill or deepening one you already have, joining a group or guild, traveling, etc.

Does the issue of self worth come up for you? Are you feeling that you don’t deserve what’s on your list? If so, your new mantra is, “I deserve (fill in the blank) just because.” The just because is just because you exist.  You are a child of God and need no other reasons for your desires. Perhaps, I need to add a caution…as long as your desires do not harm another.

Now that you have your list, you are going to go over each item and ask yourself if you truly desire it. Imagine your life with that particular thing or item. How does it make you feel? If you honestly feel that it enhances your life then it stays on the list. If not, simply eliminate it. No harm, no foul. You get to do the editing.

Three other questions to ask yourself about each item are: Is it enough; is it within your human possibility; and does it contradict any other item on your list?

Next you will put a dollar amount next to each item. You’re preparing for the next step. Next week I’ll be writing about goals. Until then, remember…

Creating Abundance and Spiritual Economics

This post is an “extra.” It’s 12:38 AM and I am reading in Spiritual Economics. I had to share this quote…

“It could be said that when you realize your relationship to the dynamic Universe, you are forever in a field where you could drill for oil and bring in a gusher every time.”

Sweet dreams and remember…

Creating Abundance and Attitude

If you’ve been reading my blogs from the beginning you know I already made one post about attitude. Think it’s time to write about it again. Attitude is everything when it comes to creating abundance.

In today’s environment, it’s easy to fall into the trap of doomsday. After all, every where you turn there is negative news…on the TV, over the radio, in the newspapers, conversation around the water cooler. Do people still have conversations around a water cooler?

Just the other day I heard someone make a sweeping generalization about how you can’t make money today. Excuse me. People make money every day and always have in every time frame. There are always entrepreneurs making money even in times of economic challenges.

When freedoms are removed by the government, resourceful people find a way. In our country let’s use the example of Prohibition. When alcohol became illegal, drinking didn’t go away. Bootlegging became a new industry and people made money. Today, drugs such as marijuana and cocaine are illegal, but there is a huge market with individuals making money.

I’m not advocating illegal activities. Rather I’m making the point that people make money in good times and bad. Let’s use the stock market as another example. During the most recent dot.com bubble and following market downturn, many folks made money because they had the insight that the bubble would burst and took advantage of it.

Attitudes and belief systems are closely linked together. You could say that people often have negative attitudes based on a disempowering belief. The woman I was talking to had a negative attitude based on her beliefs and perception that no one is currently making money. Businesses are making money. Perhaps not as much as in the past but still they are in positive cash flow.

It’s easy to make sweeping generalizations but it doesn’t serve us. Where is the power in that? A famous biblical saying is “This too shall pass.” The importance of this saying is that all things move in cycles. What goes up must come down, but it will rise again.

What are you believing? Where are you putting your attention? What is your attitude? If it is anything less than in a positive direction, make a shift! Choose beliefs and attitudes that empower you! And remember…

Creating Abundance and Trusting Yourself

In my last post about creating abundance and trust, I wrote that there are two components to trusting. Then I wrote about one component ~ trusting in a Power that is greater than ones self. In today’s post I will address the other component, which is trusting in yourself.

We have been conditioned by our culture to trust others because they are the experts and you are not. A great example of that point of view is in financial investing and the stock market. We are told to trust financial advisors rather than trust ourselves. After all, they are the educated ones and they spend their entire day focused on investments and the market. It makes sense, doesn’t it? Maybe not.

Statistics show us that on average a financial planner is not able to outperform the stock market. Then you might ask, why would I hire one? Good question. Here are several of 8 reasons why you wouldn’t taken from an article by Liz Pulliam Weston, who writes a column for MSN. She writes that financial planners are: looking at only one small portion of your overall finances, have no obligation to put your interests ahead of their own and only understand the products they’re selling.

I don’t want to mislead you. I think financial planners can serve a valuable purpose when you work with the most appropriate one for you. In fact, I work with one. Here’s a personal example. The first financial planner I hired I later learned didn’t want me to “worry my pretty head about finances.” I never resonated with that attitude. The man I work with today treats me as a partner, answers my questions and is ready to help me further my financial education when I ask for his expertise.

If you can’t relate to this example, how about the deference we give to medical doctors? After a doctor graduates, he opens a practice. Hmmm, who is he or she practicing on? Us of course, unless we are proactive, but most people give their power away when they see a doctor.

From my perspective the reason we don’t trust ourselves is because we lack knowledge and/or experience. When we take responsibility, we can acquire knowledge. We can also acquire experience by taking baby steps. Staying with our investing example. If I want to gain knowledge about investing there are courses to take online or at a local college. For experience I can paper trade before I ever place a real trade. In the area of health, I can research good health practices and begin incorporating one into my life.

When we are creating abundance in our lives, we are the creators of our reality. It serves us to begin trusting ourselves. If it feels uncomfortable at first, reassure yourself that those feelings are natural. As you stay the course you will gain confidence. In what area of your life would trust in yourself benefit you? Take the first step in building that trust and remember,

Creating Abundance and Trust

Creating abundance and trust – this subject is a deep one. What do I mean by trust? A dictionary definition is “reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety, etc., of a person or thing; confidence.” That definition is clear enough although large in its dimension, but what I am referring to when I write about this being a deep subject is, where we place our trust.

I divide the placement of our trust into two places. The first place is in the Creator, Source, All That Is, God…whatever name we feel comfortable using, if any. If you’ve been reading my previous posts then it comes as no surprise to you that I believe in this Power.

Let me be clear about my concept of the Divine. The Divine is within me and within ALL life. I must ask the question, Do I trust the Divine? You must ask a similar question using the name that works best for you. My answer is yes, a resounding yes! I do trust in the Divine Essence. Can I give you a logical reason why? Perhaps, but it is not a direction worthy of our time in this dialog. I trust God because I choose to. Is that simplistic or naive? Perhaps you will view it as such, but it works for me. Actually, in my mind and hearta, choosing to is far more powerful than the alternative.

Frequently, I hear someone say, How could God let that happen? or If there is a God, this wouldn’t have happened. I have a totally different perspective. My belief and conviction is that God had nothing to do with the action or activity as a director in a manipulative way. Of course God could intervene, but that’s not the point. All That Is is giving us the opportunity on the earth plane to use free will in our life. Not sometimes, but of all the time. Otherwise, the lessons are not learned. What is the lesson? We create our own reality, whether that reality is beautiful or otherwise. To refine this even further, we are co-creating our reality in partnership with the Divine.

The second part of trust placement is trust in one’s self. I’ll write about that in my next post. Until then, remember…

Creating Abundance and Structural Tension

When it comes to the art of creating and creating abundance in particular, Robert Fritz has an approach that is so important it’s time to add it to my blog. What is this approach? He calls it structural tension. Fritz describes two types of movement: one is forward moving and the other is oscillating.

Forward movement is going from point A to point B, C and so on with consistency. Robert is a musician and composer; so, let’s say he is creating a musical composition. Forward motion would be writing a musical score starting from scratch and moving forward to its completion.

Oscillating motion is what he likens to a rocking chair. You move forward only so far and then you go backward to a certain point and again that motion is stopped and perhaps you start all over again. We’ve probably all found ourselves in this oscillating cycle at one time or another. It doesn’t feel good. Quite to the contrary, it feels frustrating and defeating.

Fritz goes on to describe his system for the creative process using structural tension. The first part of this system is the vision and we write our vision at the top of the page. The second part is our current reality and we write this part at the bottom of the page. At this point we must be very clear with both the vision and current reality and use as much detail as possible. It is also critical at this time to be honest, brutally honest, about our current reality. Minimizing or embellishing the situation will not be useful.

The third and final piece is the action section which goes between vision and current reality. Let me explain the energetic dynamic that takes place according to Fritz. When you have a vision also known as your primary choice and you know your current reality, action steps emerge because of the physical tension between these two poles. This tension is a good thing rather than psychological tension which causes stress. In the creative process the tension pushes forth, if you will, the steps or secondary choices that are necessary to accomplish the vision or goal.

Another part of the process which is essential is to assign due dates to the action steps and to give them an owner. If this project is to be done solely by yourself then you own all of the steps. However, if a team is working on the project then different people will own different steps.

Now for the final part of the process. As you take action steps you will evaluate your results or progress. From the evaluation you will make adjustments that you will implement into your next actions.

Fritz has designed a structural tension chart and calls the main project the master chart. Some projects might require sub charts and that will become self evident when working on the project.

This is of course the rough outline of the process. If it peaks your interest, you can read one of his books. The Path of Least Resistance might be a good place to begin. I offer the knowledge of structural tension so that you may use this process for creating abundance in your life and that you may do it with ease and grace. And remember….
