Creating Abundance Intro

I have a passion for helping others learn the spiritual laws and principles of the Universe for creating abundance and in particular financial abundance. I was fortunate in my life to come across these laws and principles when I was turning 30.

Many years later, oh, about 22 years later, I had the opportunity to lead a small group of women in learning these concepts for manifesting abundance in their lives. From that experience I was motivated to study the specific topic of psychology and abundance.

Following my graduation with a Master of Arts Degree, I created my business,  Rites of Abundance, and developed an Abundance Course that I teach and that is available on my website. As I became aware of technology, I taught this course using teleconferencing. Through another technology, the internet and blogging, I am able to teach you how to manifest your desires.

So, this blog is for you!

You can start reading at any point because all of the information is important, but in order to start at the beginning you have to scroll to the bottom of the page and click on older posts. As my entries grow you might even have to click multiply times to find the first posts. Stick with it…if creating abundance is your desire, it will be worth your time and energy!

Creating Abundance and Principles

This post will be the first of a series of 6 and the subject matter is all related to creating abundance. Big surprise, right? In previous posts I’ve covered all kinds of topics and they all had to do with creating abundance. So, what is different and why is this a series of 6?

Let me outline the headings and you’ll begin to see the picture. Drum roll, please! They are: principles, purpose, personal mission statement, desires, goals and action.

In order to create what we desire we have to have a starting point. We could just pick something we desire but would it truly give us the joy and satisfaction we desire if that something isn’t aligned with our principles? Probably not.

Does our purpose line up with our principles? And then, principles and purpose naturally lead to our personal mission statement. Now we’re half way home. As we move into discovering and naming our desires we can create goals, and a plan of action naturally unfolds from there.

So, today’s post is on principles. One of the greatest advocates of principles that I know of is Stephen Covey. Covey is the author of the best seller, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Although he’s written other best sellers, The 7 Habits is the foundation of his life philosophy.

In a nutshell, Covey believes that the importance of principles is in their timeless value. What do I mean by that? Principles are fundamental guidelines for human behavior. An example will help us here. Some principles that fill this description are love, excellence, dignity, potential. Principles are the qualities we choose to live by. It’s easy to confuse them with values or practices but those are different, because they change with time and situations.

It would be easy to write about the principle of love because in my belief system love is at the heart of everything…a principle integral to all life. Instead let me write about the principle of potential. Potential is the latent power inside each of us to be the fullness of who we are. This reminds me of a Maryanne Williamson’s  quote, “Playing small doesn’t serve the world.”

There is within each of us a seed of greatness waiting even longing to come out. This seed of potential requires nurturing to come forth. As a tender sprout it needs care, but over time will grow strong and resilient. The principle of potential as other principles is never changing. No matter who tries to annihilate it, it still exits. Even in a concentration camp, the light within Viktor Frankl could not be snuffed out. He survived to write Man’s Search for Meaning, known as one of the ten most influential books in US history. He went on to create logotherapy and was a great addition to humanity as he fulfilled his potential.

Principles are the starting point in our process of creating abundance. Reflecting on the principles that are important to you will be your starting point. In the next blog post I’ll write about purpose. Until then, remember…

Creating Abundance and Attitude

If you’ve been reading my blogs from the beginning you know I already made one post about attitude. Think it’s time to write about it again. Attitude is everything when it comes to creating abundance.

In today’s environment, it’s easy to fall into the trap of doomsday. After all, every where you turn there is negative news…on the TV, over the radio, in the newspapers, conversation around the water cooler. Do people still have conversations around a water cooler?

Just the other day I heard someone make a sweeping generalization about how you can’t make money today. Excuse me. People make money every day and always have in every time frame. There are always entrepreneurs making money even in times of economic challenges.

When freedoms are removed by the government, resourceful people find a way. In our country let’s use the example of Prohibition. When alcohol became illegal, drinking didn’t go away. Bootlegging became a new industry and people made money. Today, drugs such as marijuana and cocaine are illegal, but there is a huge market with individuals making money.

I’m not advocating illegal activities. Rather I’m making the point that people make money in good times and bad. Let’s use the stock market as another example. During the most recent dot.com bubble and following market downturn, many folks made money because they had the insight that the bubble would burst and took advantage of it.

Attitudes and belief systems are closely linked together. You could say that people often have negative attitudes based on a disempowering belief. The woman I was talking to had a negative attitude based on her beliefs and perception that no one is currently making money. Businesses are making money. Perhaps not as much as in the past but still they are in positive cash flow.

It’s easy to make sweeping generalizations but it doesn’t serve us. Where is the power in that? A famous biblical saying is “This too shall pass.” The importance of this saying is that all things move in cycles. What goes up must come down, but it will rise again.

What are you believing? Where are you putting your attention? What is your attitude? If it is anything less than in a positive direction, make a shift! Choose beliefs and attitudes that empower you! And remember…
